The Forge is easily accessible from the A14, approximately 1 hour from the outskirts of London, 45 minutes from Stansted airport, 30 minutes from Cambridge and 45 minutes from the wonderful Suffolk coast.
The surrounding area is steeped in history with a never-ending list of places to visit, restaurants to eat in and activities both relaxing and adventurous.
The Forge has been sensitivity and comfortably converted presenting a lovely, cosy and romantic place to stay. Its location is close to superb for walks, either in the forest or along the River Lark and Linnet. The area offers great hiking and cycling routes. West Stow Anglo Saxon Village is a 10-minute walk or 5-minute drive away, as is the beautiful Fullers Mill Garden.
A 10-minute drive gets you to the centre of the historic city of Bury St Edmunds, full of wonderful places to visit including the Cathedral and the Abbey Gardens. The town also offers a wealth of great restaurants for those who wish to eat out, whilst having all the large supermarkets on the outskirts of the town for those wishing to eat in.
